USDC: one edge, split at open
The declared edge of the paytable is the only deduction. It is split the moment the wager opens:
Fees are rounded down. Every wager records its app fee, so what each app keeps of the edge is public.
The app fee is bounded by the edge. Admission requires
declared edge ≥ 120 bps + app fee:
A larger fee means smaller prizes. The per-wager cap is computed on the pool edge,
declared edge − app fee − 20 bps, so each basis point the app keeps narrows the largest liability the pool accepts. On a 3.5 % edge game, taking the maximum 230 bps instead of nothing roughly halves the top multiplier the pool can back. Margin and prize size are traded against each other, per game.
SOL: what the payer advances and gets back
open_wager moves SOL from the payer:
ORAO’s fee is read from ORAO’s on-chain network state at the time of the open, never set by Fade (300 000 lamports on devnet, 500 000 on mainnet at the time of writing). The prefund holds two fees so that a rise in ORAO’s fee between the open and the request cannot leave the wager unable to pay.
Measured on devnet: the payer of an app’s first wager advances about 0.012 SOL in total. Most of it is rent that comes back when the wager settles. The part a wager actually spends is ORAO’s fee, the ORAO request rent that stays locked, the crank fee and the transaction fees. Keep at least 0.02 SOL on a devnet payer.
If your own keeper requests and settles your wagers, the 250 000-lamport crank fee comes back to you. If the public keeper or another cranker does it, they are paid it.
Who pays rent, and who gets it back
The minimum stake
Every direct wager carries a fixed SOL overhead for its own draw: ORAO’s fee, the locked request rent and the crank fee. The protocol refuses wagers where that overhead would exceed what the house expects to earn, so the minimum stake is derived from it rather than chosen. With ORAO’s mainnet fee, the 250 000-lamport crank fee and Solana’s reduced rent fully active, the overhead is 934 440 lamports, about 0.0009 SOL, and the reference minimum stake is 7.5 USDC (at 120 USD per SOL and a 150 bps reference edge). It is a governed parameter, recomputed when the SOL price or rent changes materially. Small stakes are the purpose of the shared beacon design. On devnet the minimum stake is 0.10 USDC, so the demos can use small tickets. The maximum stake is 10 000 USDC.Liquidity provider fees
Liquidity providers pay no USDC fee. Each deposit or withdrawal request prepays SOL so that keepers can complete it:
